With heavy, broken hearts we share with you the tragic loss of Michelle who passed away suddenly on February 27th.
Michelle was cherished by her family, friends, colleagues and students. Michelle shared her bright and cheerful smile, exuberant personality and her big heart with all who met her. She is truly missed.
Michelle was born and raised in Vancouver. While she was a homebody, she also enjoyed travelling the world. Visiting many countries, learning languages and sharing cultures. Many of these journeys were chronicled in her photographs, some of which can be found in the gallery.
Michelle had a close family. She is mourned by her parents, brother Chris and his wife Jazzi, along with her niece Trish and nephew Andrew James. She will be missed by all her aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as her great-grandpa Trevor.
Michelle’s friends will treasure and miss her warm, positive, and generous soul, the affirming and empathetic conversations, and the joyful travels and adventures that were shared.
Children were central to Michelle’s life. Her kind and generous personality led to her being an auntie to many children. Her students were the core of her career as a Montessori teacher at Maple Grove. Her love of helping children learn and discover this amazing world led them outdoors into nature when ever possible.
To honour her memory, we are planning on assisting Maple Grove School rebuild the food garden when the ground is available. Details on Ms. G’s Garden will be updated on this website.
